Everton Football Club

Located in Liverpool in England is one of the top professional football clubs, the Everton Football Club. Everton Football club was founded in 1878 and their club colour is blue. They are also nicknamed as ‘the toffees’, ‘the blues’, ‘the people’s club’, and as ‘the School of Science’. The most common nickname used by Everton fans is the toffees. There are several stories as to how Everton got this nickname. Everton’s fan club is not limited to Liverpool. In fact they are spread across the globe and fans travel from as far as Australia to witness their team playing. Everton is one of the few football clubs to have played the most number of FA cup matches. Everton’s biggest rivalry is with Liverpool and is known as the Merseyside Derby. This derby is played regularly; it’s one of the hardest fought contests that any football fan can witness. I think the maximum number of red cards have been shown in this derby. This derby is a sell out event and the matches are thrilling and scrappy – just what the fans love to see and come from miles to witness. Some of Everton’s top players are loaned out also to European and other football clubs. Everton has produced some of the best football players in the UK.
